MICRON XCEED.SIT.TXT | 171.75 KB |
Hi.
Many years ago, when purchasing a Micron Xceed Color30HR on eBay, I got a floppy disk to boot, with the aforementioned sourcecode for the ROM of said card.
I sent a copy off to Gamba; unfortunately I've since learned he's passed away.
Long story short; my SE/30 suffered from a leaking PRAM battery, which ate through the motherboard AND the IIsi ROM (*sigh*) - only last week did I get a replacement board, and found the sourcecode once again.
I also have, in hardcopy, schematics of the PCB and stuff.
On the off chance *someone* might be interested in producing a replica board, I hereby post the sourcecode as it was given to me. On request, I'll see if I can scan the large A3/A2 schematics in a print shop.
Given the Micron no longer exists, I foresee no problems pertaining to copyright. But, I might be in the wrong there!
The archive is compressed with Stuffit 3.0.3, and converted with BinHex 5 on my SE/30! The extension .bin has been replaced by .txt, as the forum would not allow me to post .bin-files
Cheers, and good luck!
PS. Anyone out there with a spare wire-harness for the Xceed grayscale setup? Mine has vanished...! And I'm talking only the wire harness, not the CRT board!
I removed your other thread pointing to this one; there's no need to cross-post as these forums are small enough that most everyone reads everything here anyway.
My apologies! Spamming the forum was *not* my intention...!
Looks like this is a probably a ROM dump, not the source code. At any rate, it should be perfectly useful for the application you describe. Thanks for posting!
The file 369Color.a looks like an assembler sourcecode file. However, this might be the driver sourcecode, and *not* for the ROM. I'm not a hardware engineer...
Oops, you're absolutely right. I missed the note about changing the file extension from bin to txt and assumed it was a dump. rimmer, you should upload this to the file library where it could be stored as a bin. create content -> upload file
Apparently there's the following in the package:
• Debugger DA
• ROM dumps for Color 30 and Color 30HR
• ASM file that seems to include the driver. Apparently the ROM is produced from this, though it's hard to say.
• ASM includes file. There is a reference to a '369Driver.a' which doesn't seem present.
• Makefile.
Looks like useful stuff, whatever it is.
Hi,
Do you, by any chance, still have the schematics ?
I know this is a "dead" thread, but i'll try my luck anyway :)
