Not that I'd do it while still under warranty...buuuttt..... would it not be possible to somehow modify the eMac's digital amplifier and headphone port so that it was capable of powering both the internal speakers and the Apple Pro Speakers?(obviously not at the same time)

Shouldn't be much of a problem at all. All you'd really need to do is splice one of those proprietary Pro Speaker jacks inline with the internal speaker wires. Using the headphone jack for an output wouldn't work because the plug on the Pro Speakers is nonstandard.
Why would you want to? The speakers built into the eMac are Apple Pro Speakers...
The speakers in the eMac are a joke. They're supposedly 1 watt per channel more powerful than the iMac's Pro Speakers, but they're weak, relatively tinny, and cause a lot of vibrating from the case. Plus they're only audible from the front of the machine.
Oh and I think the Pro Speakers are just so darn sexy.
That explain it?
Any ideas where I might get my hands on one of those jacks?
