So I was given a white macbook that had serious liquid damage. I have just replaced the logic board. Now the screen doesn't appear to work. sometimes when the computer boots it shows a white screen, other times it doesn't work at all. The computer sounds like it boots. I'm going to go to borrow a cable to connect it to an external monitor now. If it still doesn't show video what the heck is going on ?

The screen always turns white, and the laptop always boots and makes the chime but the screen never changes from the plain white.
Check to see that the HDD is seated right. It's a quick fix, just take out the "L" Bracket and put it back in. After that, you might want to get a hold of Leopard discs and see if it boots to see if it works. Last thing I can think of is the poor man's way of testing it, is to hold down the "T" key and see if the firewire logo comes up. If it does the machine is probably working fine and needs a new OS installed. Heck, if it has had bootcamp on it before, you could just hold down the "Option" key when booting, throw in an XP or Vista disc and try booting from that.
Cheers!
