I recently purchased a new iMac and I am excited beyond words. I thought I would log on to this forum to learn as much as I can so that I fully utilize the power of this amazing computer. I wanted to know if any of you have worked with importing video which was created using NERO. The problem that I am having is that Nero uses MPEG4 type video files and something called VOD files which I have not been able to import into iDVD or iMovie.
I am also unable to get the iMac to recognize the files while they are still on my camcorder. I am currently using a Panasonic VDR-M70 camcorder that records directly to a mini dvd disk. Does anyone know of any shareware programs that might convert the MPEG4 files to Quicktime files or anything that will work on a Mac?
Any comments or resources on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

to get video from your camera into iMovie:
-attach camcorder to mac via firewire
-put the camera into VCR or playback mode
-launch iMovie, and click on the camera mode button
-click on the Import button
-Go grab a cuppa jo'
My camcorder records directly to a mini DVD disc and does not have a Firewire connection. Is there another way to get the iMac to recognize the content on the Camcorder using a USB connection?
Thanks for your response. However, my camcorder records directly to a mini DVD disc. It does not have a Firewire connection. Is there anything else you can think of that would allow me to get my Mac to recognize and import the video using a USB connection?
Any other resources you can think of that may have the answer?
Thanks for your reply.
