I've been reconsidering my Macintosh situation and I really wanted a G4 iMac but I've got no room. So I've been looking at the Powerbook&iBook G4. So what is the quality of these notebooks and if there are any serious problems then I would like to know before I spend a couple hundred on a computer. I know I want to at least have a Combo or Superdrive but besides that I'm not going to get anything under 1.25 Ghz because in my opinion there just not fast enough. But I know with a 768 MB to 1 Gig+ Of Ram Tiger Should run fairly well and so should Leopard.

do NOT get the ibook! i've had a g4 ibook and it was the most hellish computing experience of my life. besides the gpu issues, the battery sucks, and mine had all kinds of software issues.
i'd go for the albook if i were you. they have their issues as well. particulary, the ram slots can stop working in some. if you want 1.25ghz though, albooks of that speed are covered under a recall. i have a 1ghz 15" albook, and it's infinitely better than my ibook ever was.
I've head iBooks are a pain a lot of problems with the logic board. But really I never hear much about the powerbooks but I'm on the hunt for 17" Powerbook with Superdrive.
