I followed a guide on how to do make a copy of my ROM so I can use it for an emulator. But the file ends up being 2mb. I am only able to use 1.44mb floppies...
Any way I can squish it on there or something?
System 7.5.3
Did it w/out extensions like guide said
Powerbook 520c
= 2mb ROM!
Thanks

you can use stuffit expander with dropstuff with expander enhancer 5.5 . it will allow you to put them back together after they are split. i order to get that ability you have to get dropstuff 5.5 with expander enhancer. i have both installed on my P 475 and was a life saver when i only had a floppy disk to transfer data from my PPC machine to my 68k machine
in OS 8/9 get stuffit deluxe 7.0.3 if you can still find it. which will give you the ability to spit files as well. or you can install 5.5
Can I get it for free and can it fit on a floppy? I spent hours trying to expand expander 5.5 with an older version. I finally did do it and that's how I was able to use the copyROM tool. I need to "buy" the deluxe version to be able to use the dropstuff and enhanced version of stuffit.
There doesn't happen to be a spot where I can download this or something?
the delux 7.0.3 version for OS 8/9 yes i think you have to pay. but i dont think you have to the old 5.5 with dropstuff with expander enhancer i dont think its a pay version. i can be wrong. i dont think its even up for download in a easy place. i know stuffit expander 5.5 is its on system 7 today in the important updates. but as for the dropstuff with expander enhancer 5.5 i forget where i got it
you will have to look around to see if 7.0.3 deluxe is still pay. i dont see it on stuffit's site anywhere
AFAIK, powerbook roms are unfortunately not compatible with emulators.
A 68K desktop rom will be approx. 1 MB.
I get a floppy disk with a ? mark on it. I'm an emulator noob :P..
I'm using Basilisk II.

You're on the right track, then. That means the ROM is being seen...now you need a disk image.
There's a fantastic tutorial on Basilisk ii, plus a starter disk image and more available Here.
