Q: iSight Issues with PowerBook (Pismo) can't get it to recognize in 10.3 or 10.4 - HELP!
Hey I purchased a used iSight.
I plug it into my Pismo and I see the Green Led light up the lens adjust and then the Green Led turn off.
But in the Profiler under FireWire it's there...
None of the applications I tested see the iSight (iChat)
The iSight has it's firmware updated to 1.0.3 I believe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry - I checked the fine print on the specs at Apple and they indicate that the allow ONLY a G3 that's 600mHZ and up to work with the iSight and iChat AV setup... also this was discovered asking Apple directly to confirm this built in limitation.
there has to be a way. I have heard people getting the iSight to work on the pismo. It sounds like an artifical limit, an excuse to just sell more macs. google around for a haxie, and let us know if you find anything.

I searched and Googled for awhile but finally found this software to make it work. I tested the demo and then immediately purchased the software for $9.99 - I think it was a bargain...
My iSight is up an running and of course it's expected to be a little sluggish since my Pismo is a G3/500mHZ versus the G3 minimum of 600mHz and that any G4 & G5 can be used by the Apple specs for iSight.
Hey I can't complain - I snagged an iSight (just the Cam with the FireWire cable for $50 off CL in NYC almost as crazy as my first Airport Card (Original) for $20 off CL last year.
BTW anyone have a G4 933mHZ for $100?
I missed one last week of CL and would love to move to a real Mac Desktop...
TIA
