Hi folks!
I just wanted to let everyone know about a new website I've started. It's very similar to the 68k MLA except that it centers on PowerPC Macs. Just as 68k Macs were becoming obsolete and abandoned when the 68k MLA formed, PowerPC Macs are starting to face the same fate. I decided it was time for them to have liberators all their own!
I plan on making the website more complete as time is available to me, but for now it's great for browsing fun. There's even a forum with a few posts in it already. The rules for obtaining an account for the forum are a little different than usual. For now, I require that new members also be contributing members of the 68k MLA. That might prove to be untennable in the long run, so I might rethink that in the future.
Anyway, enjoy the website!

Enjoy!

P.S.: I swear, I had nothing to do with the 68k MLA being down today!
Oh yeah, the site's about page says it run on a Power Mac 9600. That's not true anymore, I just haven't udpated it. When I got the domain, I moved the site from my basement to a hosting company. I have no idea what hardware it runs on now, but I seriously doubt it's a PowerPC Mac.
On the other hand, the prototyping website does run on a 400 MHz (overclocked) 604e in the 9600 in my basement.
Peace,
Drew
LOL trash leads to mircosoft. That's a good one!
i think that alk deleted the 68kMLA just to generate traffic to his page! muah!!! just kidding
There's always some trouble when moving to a new server. I should have tested it out first, but I've just discovered that the forum can't access the SMTP server to send email. Without email, registration is crippled.
Stay tuned! I'll post another message as soon as it's fixed, and I'll try to fix all the accounts for people who have tried to sign up today.
Sorry!
Drew
Fixed! It turns out that my host doesn't like SMTP requests on port 25, so I had to make a quick modification to the forum to make the request on a different port number.
Anyway, it's all working now! I even tested it by creating a dummy account and logging in with it.
Fortunately, only two accounts were fouled up by this. Unforunately, I had to delete those two accounts.
Thanks!
Drew
Awesome!
How bout making Fritter members eligible to join? I'm not a part of the 68k MLA but I would like to be a part of the PPC MLA.
I think that anybody can join, can't they alk?
I haven't tried to register, but it would seem that I could not.
Given that the 68kMLA is offline, I'm waiving that restriction for the next few days. Go for it!
Peace,
Drew
YEAH!
