people have commented that the Ethernet and the sound through the HD connector DO NOT WORK. However, other sound ports work. It's limited, since it can only have 256MB ram, and it's soldered on. So unless you are a REALLY good hardware hacker, you are stuck with the 256
Oh well, but you will need at least another intel mac to do the hack, since there are now retail OS X for Intel yet.
this is no april fools.
But, like coius said, its not fully up to speed yet.
However, give the community time. We have people like Maxxus (who has been missing for quite some time... hmm...)
It will not be long before the appropriate changes have been made, and it is fully functional.
Still limited by the ram though.
Also, you dont NEED an intel mac to do this. The DMG can be extracted to the hard drive from any machine.

OSX running on Apple TV?
It's really new to me. I'm wondering how?
@ fritapple: Having had eeun and others delete things I've said in the past I will just leave it as this:
1 - OSX on apple tv IS possible
2 - it IS fairly limited (lets face it - the apple TV is no MacPro)
3 - Information on this subject can be found through Google and "the usual channels" and,
4 - the use of software in this manner is definetly NOT within any of apples terms of use and as such certian mods of the fritter get tender when this subject is spoke of - so I will not mention it again.
However, as a purely "scientific" thing; it sure is fun to give it a shot and see it working first hand; even if it isnt so practical.
Also, if it is allowed - here is a video of OSX running on appleTV:

best of luck

As evilrobot posted, full OS X on the ATV is limited. The ATV already runs a special version of OS X, as it has a more limited x86 CPU that a full Mac. To run full OS X, in violation of Apple terms as OS X is not sold for Intel and is only available purchased on a new Mac, it needs an emulation wrapper that hides the missing CPU features from OS X. It's certainly not install and go.
