Might just leave custom avatars blank. I've implemented custom avatars for comments, but not yet for nodes. Avatar placement may change.

in the xtemplate theme the avatars are enabled for nodes ... but not in the default theme ... it would be good to do a YaBB styleinfo panel at the side of each post which contains the avatar and username and stuff ...

hey! avators are here!

Yeah! We finaly have them! One of my fav's on the old site was avators. If anyone cares, I put the BSD daemon as mine. The 3d sun logo didn't look good so small. As for a default avator, how bout the multi-colored apple logo?

Clicky Clicky to the Anim.

I was just waiting for feedback. I don't like it, but I had to try some animation when I say Dr. Webster's avatar.

35x50, huh?

I think the chances I'll be able to find/make a recognizable picture of a pterosaur that fits in that space are nill. ;^>

Anyway, Tom, technically your avatar is in violation of the upload limitation. Your GIF is 43x34. It'd be impossible to load that avatar as things are now.

Interesting bug, anyway. You might want to change it to a square format, say 50x50, so it's at least an option to use pictures with a horizontal aspect ratio.

--Peace

P.S. My horizontal avatar is a result of tweaking the file after uploading it. It *does* prevent you from loading one.

Favicon

Tom - Check your email.

I've mailed you a fixed favicon for the site. I don't know how it looks on a Mac yet, but on a PC, the current 'af' design is really grubby looking from shrinking the size.

The new one is 16 x 16, 16 colors, so it'll even look good on Win 3.1 Wink

...only drawback to 16 colo(u)rs is the 'f' is red instead of orange.

Cheers,
Ian

Submission Avatar

Each hack should have an avatar like on the old page, just bigger than the default user ones.
