Hi!. One of my friends has a 1400cs thats refusing to power up. (not the one I bought from eeun, but the one that inspired me to buy one from eeun) She says that it just shut off why it was in use. now when you plug it in, the power light _stays_ on. and no chime or the liek from pressing the power button. Figuring it was a batter of some sort causing the problem, I removed the battery and power plug, and let it sit over night. no dice. ANy Ideas guys?
Thanks

I've encountered two things before with stubborn 1400s that could cause this:
1) Piggybacked ram upgrades in the 1400 sat up against the upper heat/rf shielding. On my very first 1400 I had to place a small piece of electrical tape over the top of the ram expansion to prevent it shorting against the shield.
2) The power manager sometimes gets confused and won't let the powerbook start properly, especially if the PRAM battery is dead or dying. Between the ADB and Serial port is a recessed button. Hold that down for about 30 seconds.
I'd also check the AC adapter for correct voltage. I've seen them go wonky, to the point of melting the outer plastic.
eeun, You rock. That little reset was all it took. Awesome!
