I'm trying to get into my vintage Apple days when I had an Apple IIe back in the early eighties. Does anyone here have or know of where I can pick up an Apple IIe system for free or perhaps pay a fair price for a "new" system that's been boxed away somehow? After I obtain the Apple IIe, I'm also looking for a game series called "Kings Quest" (I think there were about four of these games in the series written for the Apple IIe) which I really enjoyed playing back in the day. Any help, tips, etc would be greatly appreciated and will get me back into the old world of Apple!
Thanks,
Al
Unfortunately, most of the people who had big stashes of Apple IIe's to give away, have done so. Used to be able to find them in thrift stores occasionally. Those days are passing too. You'll have to keep your eyes peeled if you want to get a system from one of those two sources for a long time and be ready to act fast when you see one. There is also the Apple II classified site http://www.riseacadets.org/a2web/classifieds/a2wantad.html.
Try to find one on eBay where the seller is located in your home town, and ask if they will allow you to pick it up, instead of paying for the shipping. That's about the cheapest fastest way that you'll get one.

P.S. If you were in San Diego, I'd sell you one for a reasonable amount, and let you pick it up.
I have the five disks (original/store bought) that comprise Kings Quest III. I might have the manual too. $15 plus shipping and it's yours.
Private Message me if you are interested.

It would help if you posted what area you live in, at least county/city. Then a local or someone closer can help you find a system easier. I know of a good place here in KC.
Good ideas from above..thanks! I live in the Houston area.
Interesting, I live in Texas too. You should try out eBay. You could get one for as low as $20!
