Just for fun... Identify this bit

Just for fun
10 points to the 1st person who can identify this random bit of electronic stuff (it is shown next to a 3rd gen, 20 gig iPod for scale).

Post whatever comes to mind... theories, questions, whatever it'll take to find the answer!

That would be the infamous "blink'n lights" sub-assembly...
Not an Apple part, not a Sun part. How about part of the front panel of a Radius Telecast? Those had tons of blink'n lights.

Close, but i dont know if i'll give you full credit for that. It is the battery status indicator from a 2C cell flashlight.

misspelled URL in link..

his Pics work, its just that the link is mis-spelled...

he meany to put "random" and instead pit "rnadom"

this is the correct URL:

http://ult.pweb.info/Random

and it brings you to a folder with like 4 pics in it...
and my lame guess is a WIFI signal detector.

Re: misspelled URL in link..

sorry about this misspelling, but, evilrobot: your guess is 100% correct! It is infact the innards to a CanaryWireless WiFi locator. (http://www.canarywireless.com)

what made you guess that?
