that's right! Apple has NOT released Ethernet drivers for the MacBook or MacBook Pro for windows! That means that PeeCee Winblows users will NOT be able to network under windows on their Laptops. I got this firsthand from a person that has BOTH the MacBook Pro AND the Macbook!
Thank you apple! *Does a little jig*
So, the windows users can't brag that they have a fully functional Mac Laptop running Windows!
And thus, people will HAVE to stick with OS X for the laptop side. Anyone got experience with the other Apple Intels? Like the Mini and the iMac?
Ask if person in question used the "BootCamp" CDL

With the newer firmware shipping on the machines you *technically* don't need BC. But if you don't use it you don't get the drivers included with it. Which Apple *specifically* says includes an Ethernet driver.

he was using bootcamp, latest edition. It is not recognized, and there is NO ethernet driver for the macbooks
weird, anybody tried mentioning this to apple?
Maybe he's just a bad person.

(Apple's word)

(notes ethernet is recognized and working)

(Also mentions ethernet in passing)
And, finally, I know for a fact that there are several BootCamp-ed MacBook Pros floating around my office, and no one's complained about ethernet not working.
I guess your friend did it wrong.

Bootcamp isn't just for Windows you know, you can boot just about any other X86 OS with it too... If I got an intel mac I would definitely want Windows to work, because I play games.
I completely agree. What he's telling you is absolute BS; there are both hardwired Ethernet and AirPort drivers for all the Intel Macs.
