I've got one of these for a quadra 900 (I think the q700 and q900 versions are the same) and was wondering if it would also work in the q950.
Anyone tried this?
And on the off chance - anyone got a spare 950 version for sale?

they are often system-specific from what I read. This guy has a lot of upgrades, maybe he has one you need?

The "Quadra Overdrive" consisted of a 40Mhz 68040 overclocked to run at 50Mhz, double the speed of the CPU socket it was plugged into. As the Q950 runs at 33Mhz you'd need a 68040 capable of running at 66Mhz. There ain't no such animal, so far as I'm aware of.
You might be able to underclock your Q950 to 25Mhz, thus essentially turning it into a Q900 so far as the upgrade card's concerned.

yeah there is one.. that guy was selling it until he ran out. Should have got one when they were around.
I'm not sure how system specific they are.. they all look like the same part to me (just a clock doubled cpu, as said above). I think Amiga folks were using the sonnet quaddoubler as a cheap upgrade at one time.
Yeah I guess I could do that... I don't think the 40MHz 040 could take 66MHz, even with good cooling. Maybe one of those Variable Speed Overdrives could be the go to experiment a bit... don't like the price though.
The other issue I was thinking is - would this upgrade (even the proper 950 version) cause issues with a PPC card? I'm using a 80Mhz daystar upgrade in 68k mode (mainly for the extra RAM).
I agree with Keats that the 40MHz 040 may not take 66MHz. Now a days, compatibility has become larger issue. With each upgrade, user has to struggle with this issue. It is better for companies to tackle it at root level.
I read your message and am interested to know about this. Anyone can you help me to know about this. I hope this is the best version. I am looking forward to see the message in this af website. Thanks!!
