How do you make a PowerBook G3 Walstreet OSX Capable?

I have a PowerBook G3 Walstreet with a 266MHZ G3 processor, 128MB of Ram, a 4 GB hard drive, but no usb or firewire or dvd-drive. What do I need to get it to at least 10.1 (maybe jaguar)??

Your current configuration wi

Your current configuration will automatically be supported up to OS X 10.2.8. You might want to consider upgrading your hard drive though, because os x uses about 2gb depending one what you install. Also more rm will speed up performance a little.

The USB and FW reqs vary by the sub versions of OS X you are installing.

From this post I made earlier today on the http://www.ubuntuforums.org Breezy 5.10 Mac/PPC section:

We should point out the sub-version of OS X is what matters to if it will install with orr without FW ports. Up to OS X 10.2.8, most factory G3+ Macs have official support. The Kanga G3 PowerBook (3500) isn' supported for OS X. 10.3 needed factory USB Macs to install, so the Beige G3 is not officially supported, nor is the G3 Series (WallStreet). 10.4 requires factory FireWire, so trayload iMacs and the Lombard are now out of official support. Everything with a factory FireWire port should be fully suppored under 10.4.

10.3.9

10.3.9 is running on my Wallstreet II (266 MHz, 320 MB RAM, 12 GB HD).

I initially installed it over 10.2.x using Hard Disk Target Mode with a G4 Digital Audio as the host. Since it was already set to boot into OS X, I didn't need to use XPF to boot into 10.3. However, the next time I booted into OS 9, I needed XPF to reboot into 10.3.

Anyway, there's nothing in 10.3 that requires USB besides the installer.

The setup you have right now will work just fine with 10.2, but I'd consider getting more RAM and a larger HD to go to 10.3.

Peace,
Drew

Same story with 10.4

I installed 10.4 on a hard drive that I was using in a pismo that I had, but ended up putting the drive into a lombard (sorry drbob) (that I later gave to my soon to be sister in law). 10.4.5 works well on the 333 mhz lombard with no issues. Appears to only be an installer check.

One last thing

Ok, one last thing. I've decided I want to put Jaguar, (whatever version available), on my Walstreet. Where can I get it on CD (not DVD), and how much will it be?
