Okay, so last night I attempted to record a brief bit of data using the AV personality card on my G3 tower and Apple Video player. The only problem is the video is running at normal speed and the sound is running at half speed. Needless to say, this just a tad ridiculous and the video doesn't go with the sound at all. What did I do? I can't find anything in the preferences that effects this, I've tried recording subsequent tracks with different levels of compression and that doesn't have any effect. 2 questions:
1. What happened here, and how do I change it so it doesn't happen again?
2. Is there any way to change a preference on the video i've already recorded so that the sound works with the video?

Lots of RAM and a copy of BTV (bensoftware.com) help a whole lot. AVP offers almost no control compared to BTV. Then play with settings until you find a set up you can agree wtih.

Er, video editing. If you have iMovie you can seperate the sound and video trakcs, then using a third party program you can slow down or speed up the sound clip. OR use final cut, there migth be some way to do it.
I had plenty of luck on my 6500/300mhz with 64mb RAM and os 8.1
Are you using on-board video or a PCI card ? I had that same problem with my second monitor which has a much better video card than the stock ATI on-board video. But the on-board video ran smooth with no problems with the audio not matching the video. Must have been the PCI bus slowing the video.

When I was trying to record something using Avid VideoShop on my 6500, I encountered this same problem any time I recorded sound at a sample rate below 44.1 khz. If you're trying to be conservative and conserve space; rather than recording audio at a lower sampling rate, just record it at 8-bit mono @ 44.1khz. Unfortunately other than that, I haven't figured out ANY way to correct the problem of recording audio at a lower sample but keep it in correct time.

I have the same problem, video's ok but sound is slow motion. I tried BTV, but I keep getting a Quikctime error that basically tells me recording won't start becuase of it. Any ideas?
