Newton 130 as a remote control.

I really would like to use my newton 130 as a remote control for my tv/dvd player/amp/etc.

Is it feasible, possible? I used google, but the hits were kinda complicated like detailed programming instrucitons how to control the irda on it.

Any ideas/help?

UNNA or code

UNNA has a few remote control programs online. I forgot the names but if you ran into the NewtIR FAQ you saw the list of programs. None of them support a wide range of brands and even within brands they don't support all the devices or even the functions. It's extremely hit or miss. If you want all your stuff to work like you want it to you'll have to code the commands on your own.

Ouch. Programming my own com

Ouch. Programming my own commands. I was hoping to somehow have a remote similar to those nice sony ones with the touch pads.

Also I foudn out that newtons can't learn ir commands (some sorta ir diode filter).

Oh well. Someday i will figure out something cool to do with my newt.
