wireless card apple airportwireless card

I have adopted an apple airport wireless card, like the one in my Ibook. It shows up on the screen but no signals.

Did you plug in the antenna?

It's that thin cable with the 90° connector at the end ...

wireless card

Yes, I plugged it in. It shows up on the desktop but there is no signal. I have set the computer for airport and all but it shows no signal. I have laptops with no problems here, but seems like the card might be defective. If so, know of anyone who fixes?
