WTB Apple II keyboard for use on my Apple1

Finally got around to powering on my Apple1, GOOD NEWS the video output worked right away! The PIA runs hot though, HOT to the touch. How hot is too hot?

Now I need a keyboard to further test. Anyone have an Apple II keyboard for sale or trade?

Thanks!

Nick

The PIA gets warm but not super hot.

What kind of PIA are you using? Package, Brand, 6820 or 6821?

Duh, I forgot, you are using a white 6502 and AMI PIA.

Do yourself a favor, pull the white 6502 and AMI PIA. Use a spare not so rare set until you are sure the board is fine.

I always carry a 1978 6820 and 1980 6502 with me when I work on an unknown system. The 1975/76 versions of those two chips are way to expensive to risk ...

awesome advice, wish I would have thought of that before powerup, oh well everything seems to be fine anyways, but I will definitely buy a cheap CPU and PIA until certain everything is 100% stable.
