Video editing on G4

What would be the best video editing software to use on a powerbook g4 with mac os x tiger 10.4.11? Would final cut run okay on here or no? I have 768MB of ram, but for tiger that's a decent amount but I'm sure that will definitely affect the editing software.

I'd say an old version of iMovie at best.
I've heard horror stories of old G5 iMacs dying from running final cut.
Sorry!

So it wouldn't be healthy to run final cut?

Possibly. But you can still try it without running a bunch of projects with the software. Then, if it does okay, go ahead and run Final Cut all the way Smile

Re: Video editing on G4

I did quite a bit of video editing on a dual 1ghz G4 MDD using iMovie. Produced a lot of home DVDs. Even did one short HD video just to see how long it would take the G4. The short HD video took days to render and I won't do that again. A regular DVD should render in a couple hours or so.
