ROMX* Firmware 1.2.0 (for ROMX+, ROMXc, ROMXe, and ROMXc+) is now available at https://theromexchange.com/utilities/romxce .
Also new ProDOS 2.4.3 images at https://theromexchange.com/rom_images/romxce .
The new ROMX+ is available now for pre-order at ReActiveMicro.com. There are a limited number of units and they will ship at the end of April. Here is a comparison of the ROMX+ to the original ROMX:

Here's an example to show how easy it is to add new functionality to Apple II/II+ machines using ROMX+. I wanted to give the Autostart Monitor the ability to do a cold start just like a open-apple-ctrl-reset on //e machines and up. Since there are no apple keys on the II/II+, I opted for a different approach. Ctrl-reset works normally to do a warmstart; but hitting it twice in rapid succession will get you a cold boot.

When you boot DOS or ProDOS on an Apple II, the disk you boot from must have been created on a machine with the same amount of memory installed. The only disk that can boot on a machine with an arbitrary amount of memory is the Master disk; that is used to create boot disks, and contains relocation code that knows how to prepare DOS for any amount of memory.
And with the same color of the case!!!
Just some clarification. The issue you describe only affects DOS; almost every version of ProDOS requires 64K. Also, while "slave disks" did exist in the very early days, it soon became standard practice to make all disks "masters." If by "the Master Disk" you meant Apple's DOS 3.3 System Master diskette, there was also the MASTER CREATE program which would make any disk a "master."
As for aliam's issue, based on the need for his switch settings, it seems he needed to use the alternate INH pin selection to avoid conflicts with the Language Card and thus ProDOS.
Speaking of the MG ROM++ image, I must say that he did a wonderful job. I think it's better than all the other ROMs he made the rest of the Apple II line (ROMex, ROM4X, and ROM5X). I've been working on a new project and having a quick way to reboot and/ot go straight to the monitor has been a real plus (pun intended)! Here's a quick video I made showing it in action.
