Hey, new to the board though I have been lurking for some time now. Decided recently to break out the old Apple II hardware and see what I wanted to keep and wanted to sell. After reading threads on this site over time I figured here would be a good place to start asking questions. All the machines are mine (at least the several I am considering selling) and were bought new. My first question is about an original Apple II. Wanted your opinions on if anything looks out of place. I know the II+ and IIe I had (at least a couple of them) were repaired at some point in time but I honestly do not recall if the Apple II was. I was only 10 or 11 years old when I got it (was supposed to be for my older brother....I digress) and the II+ is the machine I remember using the most. Although, in the picture of the PS you can see where the heat shield for the AppleCat modem was glued! I will take much better pictures once I am ready to sell it, but in the meantime any other photos you need to make a determination on original parts/etc. just let me know. Fired these off with my ipod in the office just before posting.
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

By the way, I am assuming the power supply was replaced later in the life of the machine based on the high S/N on the power supply (pic 0140 in original post). I honestly do not recall but seems likely. There is no date stamp or label on the underside of the PSU.
Just posting info as I have it.
Added pictures 0146 through 0150 of power supply to original post
Well that's a clean Rev-0 Apple II. Yes the power supply isn't original. I would swap the roms between the rom card and the motherboard so the correct integer roms are on the motherboard.
Otherwise the machine seems pretty original. For the supeRmod, use some contact cement to glue the label back down if you can before it gets ruined.
Systems like this are very desirable even with the power supply. It was a common failure and hopefully someone can find the right supply at some point.
Cheers,
Corey
Yes Corey, it is nice. I'm definitely interested in it. The good thing is I already have a rev 0 power supply here at the house.
Is the keyboard original? When did they stop producing the early rev 0 only style keyboard?
Well that keyboard is correct. It looks the same as mine which is serial #3230, though without seeing the keyboard out of the case I can't tell if it's the same version as mine where apple used studs on the case and not brackets to hold it in. Mine is missing some holes in the PCB because if this. It's actually rarer than the earlier keyboard with the edge connector because apple didn't use that mounting system for long. There was an additional revision of the keyboard used later, I have an example of that where they used metal brackets that screwed into the case for the keyboard. Similar to the brackets on later keyboards. That keyboard has extra holes and is only dated a few months later, so it didn't last long. But I have no idea when my keyboard exactly started or ended.
Mike Willegal's Rev-0 is around serial #2600 and he has the earlier keyboard with the edge connector and no stiffener on the top. So somewhere between those numbers.
Cheers,
Corey
Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity, why swap the roms if that is the way the machine came? Just curious. Other than the keyboard, any other areas of the machine that should be photographed that were not? The keyboard is on four threaded rods(studs) with nuts/washers holding it down, I will photograph and post when I can later (moron did not do it when I had the bottom off and power supply out)
Thanks again for replying, I appreciate the help.

The system actually shipped with the Integer ROMs on the motherboard. The AppleSoft ROMs currently on the motherboard were swapped at some point with the ROM card.
And yes, you have the same keyboard as I do, then again your serial number is only 53 later than mine.
Cool.
BTW: I'm amazed how clean the system is, there doesn't really seem to be any scratches anywhere. Usually there is a spot or two that gets scratched up on the machine that needs touching up to look fresh out of the box, or did you already touch up the system.
Cheers,
Corey
Gotcha, I was not aware of that with the ROMs and I would not remember anyway with so many different machines over the years. The case is in good shape but those were quick pictures for identification to post here taken with my ipod touch. There are a few wear marks/scratches on the leading edge left and right of the keyboard and back corners on top (likely from opening and closing the lid so much) which will show up when/if (probably when) I take quality pictures to post for selling the unit. Only thing I did so far was clean up the grime around the keyboard and sides from my pre-teen and teenage hands when I used the machine. Stored it but did not think to clean it before I packed it and my other old machines away... glad I even bothered to keep it....something I am shocked I did when the age I was at the time (end of the 80's)
Thanks for the info, I have had so many good memories brought back while going through this stuff and as I said to one person who contacted me I have spent so much time playing, pulling out old software, cleaning drives to see if I can get them running and writing basic programs for my kids to show them how we did it in the "old days" that I have not spent nearly enough time looking into what I need and what the machines are worth to determine selling prices etc!
That is why I came here. Hope to get involved in more discussions besides just looking for potential buyers/selling info. Winter is a slower time for me with work so in another couple of months I will have more time to tinker and ask questions...assuming my wife does not kill me for now having ANOTHER room loaded with computer equipment and this time equipment that predates our relationship! (known her since highschool)
Have a good one,
Z
