I have a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet Laptop, 233Mhz, large amount of RAm, Running Mac OS 9.1. When I tried to update to Mac os 9.2.1 from a burnt CD, I encountered this issue:
Can someone explain to me why this is happening? I have another burnt boot disc of mac os 9.2.2 and still the problem exists.
What does System 9.22 give you that you do not have in 9.21?
My guess is that the CD-ROM drive is fickle. Not uncommon with these machines.
"large amount of RAM"? I have a Powerbook G3 Bronze (Lombard) 333MHz around here somewhere and the max that one supports is 512MB, which isn't a lot these days. And if memory serves it is a generation or two newer than the Wallstreet. I think the one I have has OSX 10.3 Panther on it. Have you tried installing OSX on it?
