Having trouble downloading a free c++ program on my Mac. What program can i use? I have a MacBook pro computer. Are there any suggestions, and when I try down load Xcode it tells me I can't because it's a hd!

These days it's quite easy to install gcc on OS X. A couple of options I'd recommend Homebrew, OS X gcc Installer, or direct from Apple the Command Line Tools for Xcode.
