Need help from you guys. I have an old CMS hard drive. But it's missing the ribbon cable that connects to the controller card itself. Does anyone know where I can pick one up? Also there are a series of dip switches on the back of the and with out any owners manual I am some what lost when it comes to knowing what dip switch does what...
Thanks..
Patrick.
Patrick,
I am by no means an expert of the CMS card as I just picked one up on eBay for around $50.00. Mine is the 1987 ROM version. There were 3 versions of this card 1987, 1989, and 1990. I have the oldest one and am looking for a 1990 ROM to update it. You can get them from Reactive Micro, but as far as I can tell, they are still not taking orders.
The other thing I can do is post here the web sites that I have used to try to get mine working so far. Here they are:
General Info:
http://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ground.icaen.uiowa.edu/MiscInfo/Hardware/cmsscsi
Here is a PDF of the Manual
http://www.apple2online.com/web_documents/cms_scsi_ii_hard_disk_manual.pdf
Lastly, if you want, I can take a picture of the cable that came with mine and check the pinouts. It looked pretty simple and small DIP Header on the one end end going to a DB-25 on the other end.
Let me know if you need me to do this
Thanks,
Jay

P.S. You can always buy the CMS card that's been on eBay for months now for $450.00 dollars. It comes with a cable ---- Just Kidding!!

Thanks for the reply , but for $450 that's a joke in itself ...
Patrick,
I posted a picture of the CMS SCSI adapter cable I got with my card.
One one end is DB-25 female connector and on the other end is a 26 position IDC "Header" connector (also Female)
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Jay
I just put a CMS SCSI card with cable on Ebay. Current bid is $3.25 with no reserve
