I was wondering about the motherboard, which I think is 607-0187-E. It looks to have 2 64Kx4 RAM chips instead of the 8 chips. I guess it is a later version than what I have now, which is 820-0087-A 1984 607-0187. I was just wondering what are the differences, other than the number of RAM chips? Would I be better off to using the one I just bought if everything is OK, and using my original with the older MB as a spare, or for parts? I couldn't pass this one up, it showed up on ebay for $49 with free shipping (I hate that 'buy it now' button). I didn't need it, but it was cheap, and had a picture of it up and working, so, tell me it was a good deal and make me feel better. Thanks.

The original -A rev wasn't capable of DHGR. Everything later had DHGR. Later revs had (even) lower chip counts, but besides "enhanced" CPU and ROMs they're functionally the same. I like to run my platinum because it's the youngest of the bunch and has the smallest number of things that can go wrong with it.
You needed it... you always want to have spares. Better clear out some more space in your closet, though: there will be more where that one came from.
k4lmp,
They're like Lays Potato Chips...You can't eat just one. lol
Good condition, working, $49.00, and free shipping? Not bad at all.
