I could never afford any apple II based hardware back in the day and the nostalgic apple lust has kinda bit me.
Before I jump off the deep end and start grabbing every bit of apple II hardware I can find beg barrow or steal, I decided to mess around with the emulators first. AppleWin is fantastic. Where I am hitting the brick wall is with Kegs.
I have managed to get the correct rom installed and the emulator starts, however every disk image I have tryed to use with it fails and I get dropped into the monitor.
does anyone happen to have a 32m GSOS 601 hard disk image they would be willing to share ?
as I have zero apple hard ware at this time, is there a piece of software that I can use to create a blank hard disk image ?
well if you have any suggestions or comments I would appreciate any and all help.
thank you.

Howdy and a question
This website has a setup guide for KEGS:
You can get a bootable PO file here:
http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/kegs
That site has a link to that image:
http://www.emaculation.com/kegs/gsosdisk.zip
Oh, and thanks for asking this question. That guide for Kegs has a link to a thread on another forum that appears to be a way to decompress those files that supposedly can only be decompressed on a Macintosh. Those sea.bin files that used to be on apple's website.
Just head down to http://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/
They got all kinds of HD images, games, etc. Amazing site.

Welcome to Apple Fritter!!!
I use ActiveGS, which is based on KEGS. Here is a link to the Stand Alone Version.
By modifying the default.activegsxml file using a plain text editor to define which disk image(s) you want to launch. Image can be in .DSK, .PO, .2MG or .ZIP for format.

I'm partial to GSport.
One aspect I especially like (being a command-line kind of guy) is that I can give GSport the name of a disk image, and it figures out which "slot" to insert it into and boot from:
http://gsport.sourceforge.net/operating.html#Running_GSport
Just wanna say thx, I got everything working.
