I have recently acquired an Apple IIGS, which I am using along with ADTPro and an 800k floppy drive to create bootable 800k floppies for my machine. However, I do not yet own a Disk II drive, so I cannot yet write programs to 140k floppies. Would it be possible to create a bootable 800K floppy from a 140k disk image?

Your GS can't boot from a 140k disk image unless it's also ProDOS. So none of the DOS-based games will work, for example. Most of those ".dsk" images (specifically, the ones without ProDOS) expect to see the Disk II hardware and won't work without it.
Thank you for your help.
