I've been trying to bring my family's old LC575 back to life as my first retrocomputing project. Playing games on this thing are some of my first memories. Here's a blog post about cleaning the wasp nests out of the power supply (with lots of photos of the internals): Restoring my Childhood Family Computer: Part 2
The current status of the restoration is that the motherboad seems to be damaged beyond my ability to repair due to a battery leak (there's more info in Part 1) and I've ordered a replacement. I've attempted to power it on (with and without the damaged motherboard) and the CRT sounds like how I expect a CRT to sound, though there's nothing on the screen and also I don't feel a static charge on the screen. Hopefully that means that the power supply and CRT are fine and it's just a matter of the motherboard being damaged.
