Hi all, noob here!
I have been hunting high and low for a case badge for an original shape Apple ][.
I've heard NOS labels sometimes pop up, but I've not seen any for sale.
Does anyone know if repros exist?
Thanks!

Galaxina,
To my knowledge there have never been any Apple II Lid Badges reproduced.
You can find NOS badges on occasion on eBay, but most times they want your Left Arm and your First Born Child for one.
Steven
Thanks for the reply Steven. It's as bad as I feared!
I'm quite attached to my Left Arm and my wife would take exception to trading our first born, so I guess I'll have to think of a creative solution to get around it.
Perhaps I can find a scan somewhere and get it printed onto adhesive vinyl. I say this, because they so rarely come for sale in the UK I doubt I'd ever find one at a reasonable price for this purpose!
Thanks once again anyway
Nowadays there are services that print on aluminum and metal, and I've seen prices for card sizes around $19. You could print 3 or 4 Apple badges and cut them, would look like the real thing...

As much as I've grown to dislike altering or modifying vintage gear of any sort, if you have the skill or know someone wh does, the easiest way to go, is to over paint the green plus on a IIplus badge.

Mike W.
I agree with Mike, while not ideal it still won't cost $100+ for a logo plate which seems to be the going rate for an Apple II plate. A II plus plate goes for about $5.
A little tip, you can strip the green paint off the entire area using thinner on a qtip, and then repaint the whole area to match. Will take some work and skill, I experimented with this and actually made a sticker mask for the Apple II part and the Apple so I could paint the background. I made the mask by scanning the logo plate and printing it on sticker material that I could soak off later. The results were OK from a normal distance. From a couple of inches away next to an original Apple II plate you could tell...
Cheers,
Corey
I have 3 ("new") Apple II and one Apple II+ badges left.
I could send you one of them... do you have something for exchange?
... i'm not interested in money

Those services must have existed in the 1970s too.
Perhaps someone who was at Apple at the time will remember how they were manufactured.
I guess I will try and find a Plus logo and paint it as suggested
Don't suppose anyone is selling one?
