apple //c ROM upgrade "0" problem

Heres the problem,

I bought an broken apple //c online which i noticed contained the upgraded version of the ROM to run UniDisk 3.5

My thought was transfer the new (upgraded) ROM from the broken apple //c to my "good" apple //c

So I follow all the steps of installing the ROM upgrade correctly, and rechecked my work then checked it again!

I plug it in, color squares moving on the TV screen...

Why does this happen?

I swapped the ROM chip back to the original systems and both machines booted up fine.

Could it by my solder is bad or my cut of the W1 or W2 was not wide enough? Gosh I really haven't a clue...

please help!

Thanks guy

Are you sure you re doing it right? Once you solder and cut the motherboard the old ROM won't work in the system. Which ROM version has each machine, and what are the Models?
I did upgrade mine from 255 to 3 and after that to 4, but bought the ROM from a guy in Canada.
Cheers

I re-soldered the broken lines and un-solder the closed line so I can keep using it. basically i just un-did everything.
