Apple Airport Mod/Hack

I have an extra airport base station that I picked up for $10 at a garage sale and I would like to mod/hack it. I am going to but an external antanae and I already know the hack for that, I just want to know what I should use to get the paint off of the inside and how to make the apple emblem light up behind it. Thanks for the help

Soak it in denatured alcohol,

Soak it in denatured alcohol, available at any hardware store. A gentle rubbing with a soft toothbrush will help break it loose.
