How much (approximately) is the cost of the components?
When the details are finished and you publish the schematic and BOM list, I would like to make one.

I haven't calculate the cost but the cpld cost is about 2 to 3€, the Ad724 is about 1 to 2€ there are no expensive components, I belive the connectors are cheap too.
One needs a xilinx programer to configure the cpld.
Soon the shematics and .jed files will be availiable.

Awesome job ! Do you plan to make a small batch of these ? If so, I'll buy a couple.
I am waiting 10 new version pcbs with some improvements and errors fixed, after I test them and everything is ok I'll inform you. Three of them are for my friends with pal IIc here in Athens. It will take at least another month I believe to arrive from China.
The new pcbs arrived, I tested them and they are ok so I'll publish the schematics and the cpld file.

There are 5 files.
What are they for, how do I use them?
(I'm a bit of a noob with this)
I uploaded the zip-file to https://aisler.net/ because I have used them once before and they are located in holland or germany.
So there are no long shipping time or import tax and all that.
It uploaded and their webpage said:

Is there something wrong with the zip-file or it is me that did it wrong?
Then there is something about "program the cpld on board".
How is this done?
It's a bit confusing to me, hope you can clear it up.
There is a chip the XC9572XL (44pin version) that is a cpld and needs to be programmed to do what we need it to do.
So if you don't have a suitable programmer (for Xilinx cplds) you can't built this adapter, don't make the pcbs if you can't program the chip.
I made a new zip that will pass the aisler.net requirements, you can download it but don't make the boards if you can't program the cpld.
The .sch .brd files are schematic and board files from the eagle cad program I used to design the pcb.

How does such a programmer work?
I mean how does that programmer know what to do?
Does it take an input file to control the programming like an eprom burner?
You need a utility called iMPACT that you can find in the ISE Design Suite 14.7, free from Xilinx
and a programmer clone that you can find at ebay by searching for "Xilinx Platform USB Download Cable Jtag Programmer"
You then open the .jed file from the iMPACT utility and program the cpld that must be on the assembled board and connected to the apple IIc to take power from.
A friend (Akis) designed a 3d print case for the adapter, the stl file has been uploaded at the project page at hackaday.
