Back to the sleeve of things, I present one that is obscure, it's a vector pdf file so 100% quality, think of it as one of them Forrest Gump box of chocolates kind of things...
https://www.applefritter.com/files/2022/01/26/Trackstar%205%20inch%20floppy%20sleeve.pdf
Ok here is an old school company, before they became Sierra online, they were on-line systems, alot of thought went into that original name, err or not ^_^...
Anyhow this file will come in handy for those very early Apple II games from Sierra, and remember not all fairytales have a happy ending.
The PDF has both full color and B/W copies, paper size 8.5x11, with standard size sleeves, which is 140mm.

Very nice work. Impeccable as always.
I have more, my only reservation uploading anything impeccable is that someone will use it for making things to sell on ebay, sounds rediculous but it happens. There is no way to protect a pdf file from being tampered with which is my biggest beef other than evilbay.
I hear that. Didn't take long for the disk sleeves for someone to start. I make sure to share the link back to this sight everytime someone asks in other forums. I even have a refined version for myself. If someone wants to attempt to use the last version for sale then at least I know it's not 100%.
From talking to others, alot of quality material is being withheld because of people messing with the uploads, removing who actually made it and putting their own names on it and then the ebay issue, that being said, what ya going do, the reality of life.
I made up a set of 200 Apple Disk ][ sleeves AND 16-sector formatted (and labeled) disks a couple years back. They look original. Did my own artwork & scaling. My plan was to sell them on eBay but I haven't done it yet. Not even sure I will, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't as long as the buyer knows they are copies of the original. I'm sure there are plenty of folks that wouldn't mind paying someone else to do this. Certainly no one will get rich doing it.

This is awesome. Made one of these up tonight...love it. Thanks!
I'd buy some. If you're worried about people being fooled a tiny "repro" mark in an area folded under might work.
They look good to me, Adobe Illustrator?
For those who want to be very correct in the colors, this will help.

A big thank you!
@ Khaibitgfx , I scanned an original Disk ][ disk, cleaned it up and scaled it in photoshop to 600DPI, did all the touch-up and color correction, then used the previously provided Atari Disk sleeve template (again, re-scaled to 600DPI) and positioned the artwork I made from the scan, did a little color correction for the printer I was using, then printed them directly from Photoshop. (to the proper scale) Adjustments had to be made due to inaccuracies of the printer but I narrowed it down pretty close. But the bottom line is it was all done in PhotoShop using a .png template.
With regards to the rounded corners, I got a punch-cutter for that. (not sissors)
For the Disk labels, I ordered full width labels (like Apple used) and did the same graphics touch-up procedure as with the Disk sleeve, but added a RED Apple 16 Sector Icon to the right side of the label to differentiate mine from an original. Every disk that is labeled was formatted with DOS3.3 and tested prior to getting a label applied.
I spent a couple days making up 200 of these disks, but it was worth it to me.
The only real difference between my disk sleeve and an original sleeve: An original Disk ][ sleeve has rounded flaps on the back of the sleeve, whereas my copies have a near 45 Deg. cut. I would have fixed that except I could not find a round punch cutter that had a matching diameter. Spent enough on the project as it was. The sleeves were cut with a precision paper cutter, as opposed to using sissors.
Hope that answers your question. ;-D
This might help as well if you use Illustrator or Photoshop......
 Apple Spectrum PANTONE & RGB - SWATCHES.zip
After all work maybe you should sell them on ebay, unlikely anyone will complain that they copies of the original as long as they very good copies.
Everything I have made myself is for the most part created in vectors using Illustrator, certainly not the fastest or easiest way to go however my main reason for doing do was the challenge of it, if all goes well in the end you have an original that is resolution less, nothing beats that.
Often more than not I'm forced into creating or altering a digital typeface to match the typeface used in the pre digital era, that can be real tedious, however it's not like working at Adobe where you're expected to have things done with timer connected to your throat, I take my time and whatever comes of it is usually better than nothing at all.
I'm currently doing the Beagle Bros logo, so far so good.
Well said.
Just a hats off to all the artists on this thread. Amazing work.
Curious what application folks are using to print the SVG files. I am using, of course, a Mac. ;-)
Cheers,
mark
I use Inkscape, free and open source for Linux, Mac, Windows. I've had one individual instist on using an online svg viewer and it seems to screw with the images.
I upload everything as a PDF file, SVG files can be screwy to deal with even though they are more or less just a html page.
If you view a PDF file on any advice with the correct software you won't be burdened with problems, the printers at places like Staples work with this type of file without any difficulty.
Everything is created with Adobe this or that, sometimes other programs such as Fontlab are used as well.
Are the 1993 colors the right colors?
As of 1993 they were, the information comes from a manual published by Apple at that time.
After discussions behind the scenes discussion with several site members I have decided to release the version I am most happy with. as I stated before I am not interested at this time in selling these and encourage everyone to print for self use. macnoyd has put a lot of time and effort into his versions and has mentioned he was interested in maybe selling the ones he made, these are excellent and I recommend you support him if he wants to sell and you want to buy. I want to send a huge thank you to Tom, PTB and Khaibitgfx for thier help!
I asked Tom to put them up on the front page link, until then they are attached here,
Disk-II Sleeve V3.0.pdf.zip
Absolutely thrilling to see these refined like so!
Pretty awesome outcome. Very nice work !!
Here is another document featuring the Apple CMYK specs, compared to the Pantone values.

Anyone have an infocom sleeve handy, I'm looking to clone that one, everything on the net is horrid.
I do. Do you want a high res scan?
High res would-be great, if you can scan the labels of any infocom disks you have, I can recreate pretty much anything.
While not as exciting as Cad Bain...
Here comes another, this version comes with disk labels as well as the sleeves.
MECC
https://www.applefritter.com/files/2022/02/06/MECC%205-25inch%20Floppy%20Sleeve.pdf
I scanned the front and back of the sleeve in 600 dpi TIFF. I don't scan much (and when I do its usually just a document to PDF), so I'm not sure if this is the best settings. I can do PNG and PDF via my printer's scanning software if prefered. 600dpi seems to be the max though.
But they came out huge, like 27MB each. Even zipped they are around 18-20MB I'm not sure if it was even working uploading them to this post, as the blue bar didn't seem to even move, so I canceled it.
That should upload, although it might take a while. How long did you wait?
Upload upload!!!
Yeah, maybe I just didn't wait long enough. I'll give it a go now and let it run in the background while i do some other things around the house.
Infocom - Front.zip
Infocom- Back.zip
Well, it worked. Each one took around 10 minutes to upload. But the blue status bar never filled in. It just had a small sliver of blue at the left end the entire time. Oh well.
If you want label scans - I have Wishbringer, Leather Goddess, and the Gamma Force comic. The Wishbringer label has grey splotches all over. I don't know off hand the condition of the other two.
I just checked, the other Infocom labels look pristine. Just wishbringer that has the gray splotches.
As long as I pulled them out, here are other sleeves I can scan if interested. Most are in very good condition. Some may need a small amount of clean up.

Scan anything you have that is sleeves or labels for the Apple II, I'm sure everyone will appreciate the effort.
I have the Infocom sleeve created, just a matter of adding labels for the most popular games, or least the ones that I can actually do.
If there was more interest in original Apple sleeves, here's the ones that I got. I could scan those.
They are probably not as easily reproduced as the white disk II sleeves. Especially the ones from the Apple ///... They were actually printed in silver. :-)
Anyway, thanks for providing those disk II sleeves: I made some for me this weekend (also on the photo) - they look really great!
20220206_225511.jpg
If you can, I will take a scan of each of those disk sleeves and labels.
I have no problem scanning the sleeves I listed, if there is a demand for them. But I'm not going to just scan and upload them all for 2+ hours if no one actively wants them.
As promised, here are the 3 Infocom label scans I have access to. Same 600 dpi tiff scans as the sleeve.
Gamma Force.zip

Attached is a ProDos sleeve and label.
Scanning these in high resolution (600dpi) clearly revealed some dents and stains. Others may have sleeves in more pristine condition.
Anyway, here it is:

Looks good to me.
This is a sample of the Infocom Sleeve and one label, the sleeve is fairly straight forward and fairly simple to create, the labels which would be nice to be included as well.
The word INFOCOM is based on the high res TIF scan, so it's about as good as it gets.
Currently three lables have been done all based on high qualityTIF scans:
Wishbringer - Leather Goddess - Gamma Force
I would like to do the following other game labels, which means I need a good quality scans of each.
Beyond Zork
Planetfall
Starcross
Suspended
A Mind Forever Voyaging
Of course other games wouldn't hurt either, or any other game that is available from infocom.

WISHBRINGER.jpg
LEATHER GODDESSES of PHOBOS.jpg
These are two samples I made for anyone to try out, one is 300dpi, the other 600dpi, depending on the quality of your printer try one or the other to see how it looks.
Since I do not have the actual disks, the only real issue as far as being accurate would be the color background of the actual label and the grey portion at the top.
I've seen some Apple II diskette labels that were pure white, others similar to these jpg images, that tan collored tint look.
The other issue being, the original labels where printed on pre digital machines, half screen toning, ink bleeding into
the paper was the norm of the day. Add to the fact which also changes colors are aging, the paper getting discolored due to expose to UV and the glue in the label bleeding in from behind, getting accurate colors comes down to luck, if you happen to have a label
that was never exposed to UV, soiled by finger prints, then you have a prime sample in which to judge these recreations against
for the best possible accuracy.
Pro Dos Diskette Label 300dpi.jpg
Pro Dos Diskette Label 600dpi.jpg
Wow! Your labels look amazing! They indeed look better than the original (no bleeding...). I'll be able to make a test print latest this week to compare.
Concerning the color: indeed I have a bunch of such disks - and none completely matches the other. They all come in slightly different shades of gray (well, beige). And none completely matches the manual's color. I had never noticed these differences though - well, up to now... See the image below (in terrible office LED lighting, but you can tell there are color variations).
Yes, the difference in color could be a result of their use/exposure. I suspect though that the labels had always slightly differed. You can see all kinds of differences between these labels. Notice the differences in fonts, kerning and alignment. Even the label shape (corners) of the two "ImageWriter Tool Kit" disks (German vs English: top right/top left) differs. They also show sloppy printing. Look at the apple logo of the top right disk: there is a gap to the gray line of about 2mm to the left, while it overlaps the gray line on the right. Seems all the color layers are offset and too far to the right.
It's also obvious they were using a template containing the background, the logo and the "Apple // Diskware" title when they created these labels. The top elements always have the exact same (perfect) position. And then someone just slapped the name of the actual disk content (and the footnote with the copyright and serial number) onto the label, without paying much attention - resulting in various forms of misalignment for each of the disks.
20220213_221236.jpg
Aging is the worst for color accuracy, but you do with what you have.
Most excellent!!!!
Found this. Don't know if it is of any help.
