Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. Only 40 years after I saw one in person I finally got myself and Apple IIe, I had pretty much all the Commodore machines but always wanted a Apple. Anyway, the one I picked up is a IIe with the keyboard layout switch for the English/Canadian French. I don't believe it to be a euro model as the Video Rom is 24pin not 28. I'm pretty sure it is enhance with 65C02A, 341-304-A, 342-0303-A and 342-0292-A (has the 65C02 sticker). Does anyone have any history info on this version? Also anyone in the Toronto to Kingston area of Ontario that I could give some blank 5.25 floppies to make me some DOS disks :) ? Eventually I want to grab a floppy emulator. I also happen to have a 3.5 from a GS I picked up a while ago but will have to save my pennies for a controller card.
Thanks in advance for any info!
Dale
Sounds like this one. Can you post a photo of the switch? I've never seen it in person.
Is the power supply fixed 110V or switchable?

It's fixed 110v
Here is a kb pic

I collect the Apple ROM numbers here: is the number 342-0292-A ontop of the charset ROM (the Canadian one)?

Thanks.
342-0292-A is the Keyboard ROM (French/US)?
Found this on asimov.net... 342-0306-A //c, //e (enhanced) Char Gen Western French
That's NOT your (probably) Canadian IIe?
It's what's on my ROM and it is switchable with the switch. I found some information that matches my machine and states they were made for the Canadian market assembled in Ireland (one person claimed they were only sold in Quebec).

I doubt that they were only sold in Quebec, I'm on the west coast and have quite a few of them.
The two that I have handy were assembled in Singapore.
When I was first using one of them I never noticed the switch until I accidentally bumped it then was trying to figure out why my keyboard was typing the wrong letter.
Thanks Wayne, confirmed my suspicion that it wasn't only in Quebec. Yes the switch thing is funny, the last owner of mine did the same thing LOL.

I was working on a IIe Enchanced with this ROM #, and it wasn't outputting a French char map (it's also not on your list, afaict)... but there may have been other issues preventing proper character generation... you can read about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple2/comments/nrmndm/apple_iie_enhanced_weird_special_characters_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Ralfk here are the ROMs in my machine
342-0306-A = Video ROM
342-0292-A = Keyboard ROM
