Good Evening,
I have an Apple IIgs that my father bought for me back in 1987. I set it all up and turned it on and the self test started. It ended up with a System Bad: 06070000 message. Would anyone happen to know what that means, what is going wrong and how to fix the issue so that my Apple IIgs is running normally again? Thank you I appreciate the assistance.
R,
Miguel Chavarria
The self-test error codes are described here:
https://apple2.org.za/gswv/a2zine/faqs/Csa2ERRLIST.html#002
So "06" indicates an error with test #6 - the "serial test".
If that's a system in original condition, it needs all the basic maintenance first (checking the power-supply, replacing and cleaning up battery leakage, replacing bad caps) before diving into other areas.
Hi MacFly, Just wanted to thank you on answering my question. Do you happen to know of someone that would know how to fix my apple 2gs and also do basic maintenance? I appreciate the help!
R,
Miguel

Hi Miguel,on which continent/in which country you are located? Someone here in the forum may be able to point you in some direction, once we know where about you are. Usually it's not worth to send a system a abroad just for a repair.
The only person that I would suggest for this is Henry at ReActive Micro: He has more //gs-specific knowledge, than anyone else that I know.
I'm located in the San Antonio Tx area. Is Henry also in the continental US?
Yes.
