Till now the keyboard of my Apple I replica was mounted together with the mainboard, making typing a bit difficult - I wished to have the keyboard separate and more usable.
I would like to share some pictures of the keyboard case i built. It is made of CNC drilled oakwood.
It is professionally drilled and oiled, but still providing a hobyyist DIY look.
It has got plastic 3D printed legs, which offer space for two pushbuttons. One button on left, one right side.
The buttons can be used for the CLR function.
The Keyboard housing takes a Standard Apple II Keyboard.
If there is interest, i could CNC drill and 3D print more sets.

You can't use an Apple IIe keyboard. The encoder is built into the motherboard. The only thing you could do is use the IIe keybord with a custom programmed microsontroller to create a parallel output compatible with the Apple-1.

Your post inspired me to (finally) make an enclosure for my keyboard. Not as nice or precise as yours, but a vast improvement over mounting the keyboard on a couple of wooden blocks. With no CNC machines available to me, this version was made in two halves. Each half was cut out with a bandsaw, then the two halves were glued together to make the frame.
