I spent 3 hours drawing schematics tonight and totally forgot about outdoors, food, bathroom, and existence outside of my local area in general.

Heh. I do that all the time. Next thing I know it's time to put another album on and keep going.
All the time. Generally if I'm programming or if I'm rushing from classes to work all day. It's not unusual for me to have 20 hours pass doing stuff, then think "Hmmm, I really should eat something today."
So, yes.
I'm hypoglycemic... By the time that I remember that I forgot to eat, I've already passed out...
Forgetting to eat for me is like forgetting to breathe...
It really sux when I'm in the middle of a project and I have to stop to shove a sandwich down my throat just so's I can be sure I'll have the energy to finish...
Every so often I'll get caught up in what I'm doing and forget about certain things like food and drinks. Bathroom... no, my body lets me know when I gotta go!
And I'm really bad about offering guests snacks and all... just ask Wallstreet. I've told people to just go to the pantry/fridge and grab what they want, cause I only eat when I'm really hungry or out of habit (i.e. breakfast and dinner). I didn't eat lunch hardly at all during the summer cause I wasn't in school. I don't snack much either.
OK, now I'm done with my little food tangent... carry on!
Hey ,do like me - just keep something yummi near the computer and you'll never have to worry for food again! When you have time buy and put near your desk severall litters of coke and few packs of chips, salty sticks (hope they are called so on english) or something else crunchy ,but preferably not sweet (think for your teets people) and some sugar free chewing gum ,and here you go .... you are ready for long programming ,playing games, surfing the internet or any other kind of computer occupation. When I am on school I don't eat sandwiches like others, I buy a can of coke ,a pack of chips and a waffle ,that's all I need when I am not home except my thrusty laptop.
I am too, but sometimes when I get like this I just sort of time warp and I don't feel it.
I don't really consider any of those things to be "food".
Plus if I surround myself with crap like that, I will constantly snack and that'll ruin my girlish figure.
That's the funniest I've ever describe sombody of your.... stature...! Hilarious!
Having a Significant Other around who doesn't get nearly as involved in one's projects helps the eating regularly idea go better. My wife will remind me to snack or get real food if she's awake. It's also nice that she wakes late at night to do lady stuff, and in passing makes it a point to ask me if I've eaten or if I realize what hour it is (by 4:30 a.m. the hypo kicks in, even if I had a full dinner)
I didn't say that I eat tons of them.People don't get fat when they eat small ammounts of them - they get fat when they eat them non-stop.I eat twice a day - No breakfast (no time), for lunch I eat some 'crap' and for dinner something home-cooked.Usually I eat 'gyuvetch' these are meat and vegetables cut in small pieces baken in ceramic pot - it's traditionall bulgarian meal altough the name is turkish.
I'm 1,84 m tall and weight about 75Kg (not skinny ,but definetly not fat).
My perfect days is as follows:
6:00 Wake and shower
6:30 get dressed and grab my PDA and a CD or two
6:35 Skip breakfast 'cuz I can never get a hamburger cooked in time and I just can't drink beer that early in the morning
6:36 Get in the car and pray that the I-295 is clear thtough the southside merger.
7:00 Sit at my desk and login, start erasing the umpteent voicemails I get every day that all start off with an intro to a forwarded voicemail and a summary of what the message was about (each having been forwarded to someone else about five times each.
7:05 Start the CD and start going through email.
7:30 Login to the mainframe and bring my application on line. Begin working on my extensions and complex DB2 SQL to see if I can do what the vendor never thought possible.
13:30 think about changing CDs and say aloud 'oh crap, it's after lunch already?'
14:00 change CDs and erase more voice mails.
14:30 start working on JCL stuff and maybe chew on a few stray pieces of printout. mostly for shock value from nearby co-worker, partly out of subconcious desire to eat.
17:30 Answer phone call from wife and say 'oh crap, yeah, I'm leaving now'
18:30 get home (yeah the drive in traffic takes that long for 23 miles)
18:45 Ask what's for dinner
19:30 After much debate, and plenty of input from the kids, arrive at the restuarant
20:30 Get home and get kids ready for bed after having eaten so much I could pop.
21:00 TV until brain starts to drip out of nose and run down chin
2:00 Make way to bed and pray to God to take me in my sleep with a stiffee.
6:15 wake up screaming from a blistering nightmare about deja-vu only to realize that I have been wide awake for the last fifteen minutes.
Weekends are better as i tend to graze more and usually need to have something to soak up the beer.

EDIT - but my wife is IDDM, so I appreciate the difficulty therein for those folks who cannot abuse themselves as callously as I do myself.
EDIT - EDIT - Oh, and aside from the evacuation (in the shower of course), I usually do not stop for another break until I am ready to leave work and one last time right before bed. Poopstitutionals are reserved for those days where I come home early 'cuz like 'shit-brick' in American Pie, I can't go anywhere but home.
I think it was "shit-break".
I was being facetious.
yeah... I am hypoglycemic too. I have to nibble all day long. The worst part is being a girl, and certain times of the month food just doesn't seem appealing.
By the time I remember that I've forgotten a meal, I am cold sweaty, dizzy, headachy, and barely able to walk to the kitchen to pour myself some juice.
Last month I was almost passed out and my temperature was down to 94.8 before I realized why... damn menstrual cycles screwing with my hunger.
I am not sure if I am hypoglycemic (I dont think so) I just have to eat a lot. Body stores no fat at all. So I get the shakes easily if I dont eat. Annd then if I still dont eat, The shakes get really bad, and I get really light headed and can hardly walk. So I generally eat breakfast, a 2nd breakfast during 1st break at work, then eat lunch, snack during afternoon break, then dinner when i get home, then a 2nd dinner or snack later on in the evening.
I get the shakes, then I get REALLY moody, then I get a headache. Then I start killing things.
Yeah, I find about 75% of the times I get mad or snippy at someone, it's probably been several hours since I ate anything. A good snack puts me in a good mood.
This kinda thing's just happened to me.
Today I woke up at 2 30pm(tis the holidays here, and I barely slept the night before due to a strange influenza-type bug), fed the animals, did all chores etc. then got settled on the old iMac(say an hour later). And it's now 5 11am. I haven't eaten a thing or had any coffee since I got here... so I'm surprised I haven't passed out by now. No cigarettes either.
Erm... well... I'm not gonna bother trying to work out where my time went... I'm off to another forum.
I am forgeting to eat just now, I havn't munched on anything in the last 25 hours. I don't understand whats happening to me, I just don't feel like eating, and have no clue why...
Jeez im actually shakeing...
Laterz...
I've gone up to three days without food, just because I forget to eat. I just don't get hungry.
CCC
I just don't care about eating. It's not that I forget to eat. Either I can't find any health food, (fruit/vegetables) or I am in a state that I am not hungry XOR full. sometimes I am hungry, but still don't want to eat. Plainly I just don't care about food. I may eat in a day, oh less than 300 Cal. That's why I have lost 40 lbs. I was at 235 lbs.
BTW I'm a male so you don't get grossed out on the weight.
I have a fast metabolism, so eating plays a very important part in my life.
At 6'2" 235 lbs. I haven't forgotten too many meals!
I do it all too often. I'll be owning up so noobs in counterstrike or something and keep going game after game, then I like get a headache or a neckache or something, and I'll be like 'shit, forgot to eat again.' Cuz I always get a headache or something when I didn't eat or drink all day...
