Hi all,
After just resotring my Apple IIe mnotheboard from a blowen power supply I was setting up the Sound Chaser and moving it. I removed the ribbon conncetor in a bit of a hurry and broke two pins off. arrrggghhh. Does anyone know how and where to buy a new connector and crimp it on? What tools do I need. Here are the photos. I'm feeling kinda down now after this stupi error. :(
These things are notoriously fragile but easily corrected. Do a quick Google search for "16 pin idc dip plug". I get a small square stick that fits between the pins and squeeze it in a vise, gently.
I don't know about that gold style connector. But back in the day if you have enough metal. I would just solder the pins back on. Then again it would only be say 1 broken pin. So Unless the solder has a hard time sticking.

just crimp a new one on.
ok thanks for the responses. I'll see if the local store has one first. I've removed the old one and looks quiet easy to crimp on.
.
Finally found the right connector locally. I managed to crimp it on securely without a crimp too. Works great. Thanks all for the suggestions/help.
