CF HDD solution for Mac LC III?

Hello, all.

I pulled a Mac LC III out of my closet after neglecting it for 15 years [!]. Still works fine, so I maxed out the RAM and VRAM + plunked in a 68882 math co-processor just for the hell of it. (All these components are so cheap these days, why not go the whole hog?)

The only issue seems to be that the computer's 80MB HDD is now making squeaking noises. I've read that this is indicative of a failing unit. Whether or not that's true, I think it's time to give this thing a bigger HDD so I can install some games on it. (Currently it just has the Apple IIe Card software installed, and that's it.)

I'm hoping to find a modern-day Compact Flash solution for this pizza box, as well as e-z instructions to partition the CF card and install the ideal version of Mac OS from floppy disks. If a CF solution isn't available, I'll gladly use a HDD but in that event would prefer a recommendation as to an easy to set up model, with at least 1GB of space.

Any help appreciated. And I'm by no means a Mac expert, in fact I've forgotten most of what I used to know about them. So please be detailed in your replies, please.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it on a Mac, but I'm sure it would work as long as you had the right formatting tools (the Apple HD setup tool only works with Apple-labeled hard drives).

Oh, and CF isn't "modern" anymore. This is SD... Smile

Yeah, that's the one I've seen highly recommended. Thanks.

In case you change your mind, one of these should work: Sd2Scsi
I have not tried it, but I'm looking forward getting one of these.
