Apple II keyboard light

I was ordering some parts to repair my keyboard, and I stumbled upon a light bulb which in dimensions seems to be perfect for my broken light bulb.
I don't know if there are different light bulb for the different keyboard types?
It's a good match for my europlus keyboard.
Just ordered it, so it's untested.

Part no. CM7361-ND from

Just wanted to let you know, in case someone else needs it.

EDIT: It fits perfectly in my keyboard.

Speaking about the keyboard light, does anyone know where I could find an 'Enhanced' sticker to apply to it?

I don't currently own an enhanced model; all my systems are pre-enhanced but I'm pretty sure if it was an enhanced model it was printed. Not a sticker, onto the machine.

It is indeed an original enhanced model and I believe that the 'enhanced' label was always just a sticker on top of the power indicator.

Re: Apple II keyboard light

Hi how do I replace the lamp in a 'raised' power light (button) on an Apple II Plus (early plus that has the fully raised button).

I popped off the power key-cap and I see the little lamp. Do I just use pliers? Do I have to remove that white plastic piece?

Thanks

If you can see the bulb, wrap a piece of (say) Scotch tape to the top of the bulb and pull it straight up.
Easy-peasy. Smile

Make sure you put the bulb in with a paper towel, or at least wipe it down with alcohol. The oil from your hands keep the heat on the bulb and it eventually melts and dies. Its a good precaution.

I got a few of these bulbs and they don't fit my Apple II at all. They are too large... The legs won't fit in the socket.

What keyboard? if you're looking for the raised power light original Apple II keyboard you need a different bulb. I'm not at home so I don't have the link handy (forget if it was jameco or digikey) for the bulb you'd need.

Yes, mine needs the first, and I bought the second. It's a later keyboard (1980) with raised square.

The first link i put with the green bulbs was a bust!  The bulb broke or was damaged during shipping and seems to be 2 pieces that with little effort quickly fell apart.   The second link was PERFECT for the apple iie keyboard lights.  I received 3 of them (ordered 2) and they are white/natural light bulbs which when i tested on my DC power supply to verify orientation and health were not overly bright.  For some reason I sort of expected them to be green, but its all good.  When installed the Apple has a green lens which makes it green. The only issue I had was a lot of light leaking out so I shrinkwrapped the lot.  They look MUCH better with less light bleeding out between the keys.

Thanks for the tip!

I just got in a couple of IIe bulbs thanks to the second link in Magnificat's post (yes, the link still works).

A bit of a bugger to get that sucker lined up and put in, but I finally sorted it out and it works great!
