Can anyone tell me what revision this board is?

607-0187-a This is an enhanced //e Rev A or B?

I am having problems with the 80 extended column card. It keeps up giving ram errors. I have tried 2 cards with part # 607-0103-k No jumper on the board. without the board the //e passes its self tests. I really need help with this thanx.

I'm pretty certain that the revision of the //e board appears as 820-0064-X - where 'X' is either 'A' or 'B'. You would be pretty unlucky to have a Rev A board, as they were only produced for a few months after the introduction of the //e.

My guess is you probably have a bad RAM chip on your 80 column card. Do any of the RAM chips feel hot to the touch when the system is running? If any do, I would suspect them of being bad. If you have a known good RAM chip, you can piggyback the RAM chips one by one to see if the problem goes away. This avoids the need to desolder until you find the failed chip(s). Unfortunately this method doesn't work if more than one chip is bad though (you would need to piggyback all bad RAM chips).

If you aren't comfortable performing such operations, you may need a new 80 col board. Fortunately there are plenty of these around (they appear on eBay all the time) and are usually fairly inexpensive.

Hope this helps,
Mike

If you have tried 2 different 80 col cards and get errors then I would think either a damaged aux slot or bad MMU chip.
Do you have another MMU you can swap in? Or reseat it if you haven't already.
