Steven
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I actually bid on this one when it was below $200.00. It is up past $400.00 now and is in a bidding war between a**a and u**u on eBay. May the best eBayer win. I dropped out at $200.00. It's in nice shape but not $400.00 shape.
WOW!

Jay
Jay,
You're right, it's a nice unit, but not $400.00 worth.

Marvin,
Are they serious???
LOL
All,
I've been pretty much MIA from the site and especially this thread for a while.
For those of you who do not know, my Mom had a Stroke
about seven months ago. She has been living with me.
It takes a bunch of time and effort to take care of an 85 year old lady. lol
I still go up on eBay every day and find Outrageous Stuff, but usually by the
time I get it posted here, someone else has already done it.
That's a good thing.
Hopefully as things get better I will be able to devote more time to what I love doing.
Fight The Laughable!

Everyone have a safe 4th,
Steven
All,
I wrote this person a few months ago and he is still at it. There are over 100 people "watching" it. I don't have the heart to tell him that none of them are interested in it, they just want to be the first to see what "collector" will purchase it for 35K. He could definitely get a few hundred because he has the boxes etc., but 35K no way!
Best of luck.

Jay
Jay,
Lord knows I've written him several times myself
about the fact that no one will touch a
IIe at that price, but I guess he likes
constantly beating his head against the wall, just
like the guy with the $5k Mac Classic II.
They must both be into pain. lol
Steven
I wrote the //e guy, he said I don't understand the essence and history of Apple and the included purchase documentation. I can see it being worth 35,000. But not in our lifetimes. But IF it sells it'll set a new precedence in pricing and we'll all be millionaires!! Woot!!
Good Evening All,
Well; once again it's KansasFest time and I will be
envying all the attendees.
I cannot attend this year as I am taking care
of my Mom. She had a stroke last November and has been
with me since December.
Maybe I will be able to attend next year.
It seems like every time I start to make plans to go
I have something fall into my lap that keeps me from going.
That is not to say that I miss the reports coming out as to who is there and
what is happening. I always enjoy that.
So, to those of you attending next week, enjoy yourselves, but give a shout out to
those of us who wanted to be there, but (for one reason or another)can't.
Enjoy!
Steven
What is this???
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-II-II-Plus-IIe-Power-Supply-/162586548054
Looks like a power supply to me. Maybe somebody stuffed an R-Pi in there too.
There is no way this one sold for that amount of money. WOW.
This smells like the seller bidding it up himself.
Jay
Jay,
There were only two bidders and they kept outbidding each other.
There is no PS worth that amount used.
Steven

Good luck with that.
Sorry but I disagree. A silkscreen toggle Apple II supply is worth more than that. But your right, that specific supply isn't worth more than $50 on a good day.
Does this guy realize the reason he has 118 "watchers" is so they can make fun and scoff at him? None of them are seriously considering buying it.

"Distressed"
Ridiculous
and from a link at the bottom of that page, someone slapped a sticker on a disk holder 30 years ago, and now someone makes it out to be an Apple brand holder? Maybe they are hoping it will be assumed it is. Not too much damage to the common mouse pad, though.
People try to pull the "slap a rainbow sticker on it, now it's a vintage Apple product" thing fairly often, unfortunately. I remember seeing one once for a toy baby carriage - really odd stuff.
Jay,
LOL I'm one of the "Watchers".
I believe I have said before that I have
contacted this Seller several times.
He does not seem to understand that he will never get what he wants.
Steven
So have I. He believes all the model numbers and receipts and serial numbers somehow, in combination with its run-of-the-mill history in the family make it special and unique. One of a kind. Somehow it captures the essence and history of Apple Computer Co.
He believes because he owned it and knows something about it that that means something. He extrapolated the price to today's dollar and came up with $7200.
"Thank you for your suggestion. I do appreciation comments.
Obviously you are missing what the value is.
It's not in the hardware, it's only a token of the value of the ephemera.
Understanding the history of what is actually documented here has seem to been lost to people only looking superficially had the hardware.
If you're in California and paid attention to Apple then you would see the real history beyond the technology.
The real hurdle wasn't in technology but in the human side and human systems."
---
All well and good. "High-art" reasoning aside. You can't really sell the history of a company, now, can you? You can only sell a physical book, a tour, an item or souvenir - which is ephemera all the same. Yes? A little contradictory. Heh heh..
I think he needs to make friends with Giant Meteor. Come to some sort of agreement where all the Apple //e units are blasted away, then this one could then be worth $35,000!
One tiny part of me worries that some idiot flunky will come along any really buy it! The list of part numbers and dates sounds impressive to those not in the know.
Meantime I'm gonna go polish up my history and buff it to a shine. Give it a good scrub, get an appraisal. Crap.. Where did I leave it last? California!
There's a rainbow sticker on the front and back of my van. Maybe it's a prototype Apple car?
Sounds like a good way to add 10K to any used-vehicle sale. Because Apple!
---
I offered a thousand for the //e. Rejected because of ephemera!
"Thank You for your offer, but it's not really the hardware or even the software that I place value on.
It's the ephemera" boxes, paperwork,. Also the original owner that has the right to sell it."
without words...
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Apple-II-Card-Unknown-Spares-or-Repair-/112502341287?hash=item1a31a97ea7:g:YzkAAOSwxGRZfiV3
That looks downright dangerous to even plug in. Do I see some shorts near the edges? My god! ..what were they thinking?
---
Something didn't look right. Count the pins on the connector. Last time I checked my II series machines had 50 pins. This has 40. So if it IS intended for a II series computer, then it would likely have to be pushed to the front or back when inserted [facepalm]. I mean like WHEN it's being inserted, cause you can't really slide a card back and forth in the socket. Not without risking breaking and bending contacts.. heh heh.. but funk-O-rama!
Looks like somebody took a board and said "let's see if we can sell a P.O.S. to a sucker Apple enthusiast"
and carved out something that (sort of) looks like a plug in card. Nothing on the board makes sense.
Buyer beware.
If you buy this, and it arrives intact (note the shipping, as well as the seller's feedback), I would suggest having a biohazard suit and cat on hand while opening...

That price would of been about right if it was in Italian Lira (which I know is an obsolete currency).

Hi new to the site. I put in ALL the Apple IIs and Apple IIe's in a mjor high school in 1983. (took some (complete systems and 5 1/2 floppy Programs home when we changed to Maintosh SE's. Also took a couple home when we Upgraded to Newer Macs. Then The school changed to PCs which I have been working with since the early 2000's.
Your RIGHT taking this link to EPay is REALLY good for a GREAT laught. Can buy a car for less than an Apple II!! (according to this)

Incredible indeed!! Thanks or mentioning that.
The last two CFFA cards to move both sold at 300 or leak, like 150, I think.. Back to normal. So the 900 dollar sale was an aberration?
