I was curious what originally shipped, and how it evolved until the IIe...
For example, I see the Applesoft Basic Reference manual and the Applesoft Tutorial book all the time, but was there a manual for Integer BASIC?

Yes there were at least two manuals that came with the Apple II's pre-Applesoft.
They are actually for sale on eBay atm: http://www.ebay.com/itm/182508153339
I am hoping to win this auction, as I don't have a copy of the Basic programming manual in my collection.

Thanks - I'll keep an eye out for these!
There was one listed on eBay for buy it now, $6.50, two evenings ago. Was only listed for about 30 minutes or so.... ask me how I know.
Well the manuals changed over the lifetime of these models, but I see you asked "originally," so....
For the 1977 integer Apple II, you got the little preliminary Apple II manual, just a couple pages of typewritten notes. This later evolved into the January 1978 Red Manual. There was also a 1978 Integer BASIC manual by Jef Raskin. The Red Manual was replaced by the white cover spiral-bound manual when it later became available.
For the Apple II Plus you got the white cover spiral-bound manuals, one was the Apple II Reference Manual, the other two were the Applesoft manuals.
Here is my Apple II Plus packing list from 1982:

Oh yeah the infamous Red book. Don't forget that the early Applesoft manual was the soft bound (similar to the Red book) Blue book! Only seen 1 or 2 of these, but the Red Books are pretty common.

Argh you lucky dog!!!
Well I am chasing a set too, so hopefully 2 or 3 of us from here don't get into a bidding war since I naively shared the current auction info...
Jennifer
I won't bid on that one. Please let me know if you see any others, though.
Also, If someone here has spares, let me know!
True, but AFAIK, the blue book never shipped with a system, only with a purchase of Applesoft on ROM, disk, or tape (hence why the blue book is now fairly rare).
Keep in mind that there are two versions of the Blue Book, one for the original cassette tape version (Applesoft 1), and the second that included documentation for both the tape version and the firmware board version (Applesoft II).

Mike Willegal
Thanks to everyone. I found the two AppleSoft books, and the original Apple II Reference Manual.
I am only missing the Apple II Basic Programming Manual which I understand it a little more rare.
Hey Peter!
The Apple2Online store has that manual you need for $15.99!!
