I still see that bocaraton-2013's //e is still there, listed at $2800. But the price is now trending downward from (I think) $5000, was it??

$2500 to go! And I'm being generous because it has a white keyboard and appears to be clean. Though I rarely buy any vintage computer without having seen inside.

I'm not that flunky, but it does have an extremely low serial number, which is nice. To bad the original keyboard has been removed, I'm sure the rest is not original also.

It should have a raised power light. Did any of the very early Apple II Bell and Howell's have revision 3 motherboards? I know it should have at least a revision 4.

Well, he put some additional pics up there. We now know the Mobo is not original since it has an 1982 date on it. This one is just like mine. The only thing original on mine is the case and keyboard. We will see how high this one goes.

Here is a new selling strategy. Selling the exact same computer, with the exact same listing, for two different prices. Wonder why one is $275 more then the other exact same computer?

I did not know that. I have emailed him also. He must have a large collection. He told me that he has 8 Apple II Bell and Howell's. ha ha. I thought it was strange to list it two times. I should have actually read the listing before commenting here.

I know you guys mentioned these before, but I wanted to bring them up again. In addition, I'm tired of seeing references saying that only 10,000 were produced. I have seen serial numbers from the Bell and Howell's from the few hundreds to over 35,000. So clearly, there were 30,000+ produced. I have not seen any evidence that they jumped a huge amount of numbers, or started numbering them very late.

I believe the 10,000 figure was quoted for the total units equipped with backpack systems... and as time has passed people have misinterpreted the 10K figure to be for the entire run of B&H Apple II+'s.

Some dummkopf is selling a color Apple sticker for like $100 + $10 shipping.

These can be found for $5 or $6 sometimes or a set 4-small and 4-large for around $20. Even then that's kinda high.

I remember going through a pallet of Network cards, and Apple was putting several stickers in each box.

And let us not forget the $60 sheet of 16-sector stickers.. Hey! Maybe it's the currency of the future! Maybe it's AppleBucks, and a handful of these will get you a macbook or something.

i guess you inspected the second picture and have recognized
the difference between "original soldered" pins and those that
have been "resoldered" and i guess you remember that this kind
of connectors have a kind of "lock in mechanic" that won't release
the pressed cable unless you break the lock ?
And i don't even start to speculate about the soldering itself...
Did the guy take precautions to prevent static damage ?
There is a pretty good risk to pay 100 bucks for ruined crap....

Another thing that annoys me, besides improper handling is MORE improper handling.

I hate cards that are stacked on top of each other - the bottom side of one card scratches and marks the top of the other card. This Liron card is scratched up. Tells me it was thrown around too much.
