How about some Apple II related hacks? This is the computer that
started the whole thing 'way back when'! Would be nice to see a
few hacks of Apple II's. Maybe "vintage hacks"?

*Apple Rev-"B" motherboard
*Applied Engineering No-Slot Clock
*Apple Enhanced Chipset (//e)
*Apple 128k/80 column card in AUX slot
*Orange Micro Grappler+ printer interface in slot 1
*Apple Super Serial Card in slot 2
*Nothing in slot 3
*Applied Engineering Transwarp Accelerator Card in slot 4
*Apple Memory Expansion card w/1 meg of RAM in slot 5
*Apple I/O controller card in slot 6 (controlling 2 180K UniDisks)
*Applied Engineering floppy controller card in slot 7 (controlling 1 400K 3 1/2" Apple FDD)(large file storage)

Interesting. You have a very complete parts list. I like the pictures that you took. A little large, though. What's that screen shot on your Apple? Looks like an ancient version of AppleWorks? You said that you installed an enhanced chip set? The case logo says that it is an Apple//e which means that it already is enhanced...what gives?
I do like the idea of older hacks, though. Maybe others will post some of their work here.
The case logo does not indicate that the //e has the enhanced chipset. The standard external indicator that it would have one, is the little clear sticker that says "enhanced" that gets placed on the on/off indicator light, alongside the space bar.
Along with the enhanced chipset, did he mention having the enhanced CPU? It would be a 65c02 instead of the original 6502.

I actually installed the enhanced chip set in this computer.
I got it and it had a bad keyboard ROM chip, so I installed
a whole new chip set and it was an enhanced set from a "parts
hog" that I had. Gotta excuse the nephew (Pease) he likes to
bird-dog me. Keeps me on my toes. Besides, it's good that he
is learning about the variations of Apples. That's how I did
it, by reading and contacting people at Applefritter.

so, it didn't register in your post here. Would be interested
in seeing it.

Your specs are really similar to mine. But I would reccomend moving the transwarp to slot 3 it frees up a slot for a mouse card. It works on my Enhanced IIe

We should try to get the Apple //c hack idea being discussed on the other thread in this forum moved to here. It has a lot of potential and I would enjoy seeing it pursued.
