Fat Mac Basic?

What are my options for running a BASIC interpreter on a Macintosh Plus or 512k?

Take your pick from Mac GUI Vault:

There's two versions of MacBASIC, as well as Microsoft BASIC.

Thanks to you both.

I didn't realize Microsoft BASIC was available. Is there a suggested version?

Re: Fat Mac Basic?

The latest version, obviously. Smile Now I have the disks for both Microsoft BASIC 3.0 and Microsoft QuickBASIC. That's what the orange stars indicate-- that they're from my disk collection. I have the manual for both packages (pictures also on Mac GUI). What I never really did find out is which one is better.

It's been so long since I used them, that I really can't remember which one I used more, or which one was superior.

Re: Fat Mac Basic?

So - I just learned that OS 9 does not support MFS images. I don't have a way to mount these it seems. My usual method of getting software to my old Macs is:

Mount images on G3 Power Macintosh with Disk Copy
Copy files to Zip disk
Use Zip disk has HDD for Macintosh Plus

Disk Copy 4.2 in System 6.x doesn't seem to recognize the images. Any idea on how I can get these files to my Mac Plus without using an actual floppy?

Use an emulator to put them on HFS disks?
