Does anyone know what this card is for and how it works? It has apple //e diagnostic ROM printed on it. I was told it is a rare card and would like to get more information on it.
Thanks for any information.
Walt
It appears to be used for advanced Diagnostics for the Apple ][e. Not a lot of Application Information.
Some Info at The Apple II Documentation Project .
Some more info at ProgramD.com.

Hello and welcome knight61,
I own a card like that.
It contains a program that can test hardware (CPU / RAM / ROM), lores & hires display.
Just insert the card in any slot and if the red swith is in correct position, it will take over the machine at boot time.
In the other position, the Apple //e will boot as usual.
ROMs have been translated into several languages. I have the German, French and English versions so far.
I've made a couple of pictures but I don't have them with me right now.
I can upload them if you're interested.
[edit] Here are the pictures.
Wow, an old thread started in 2015 is reanimated ;-)
So something really new can be found here:

I built one of these boards.
It's a neat curiosity and could come in handy if the machine has trouble booting.
However it's of very limited utility unless someone improves or expands upon the diagnostic firmware.
