Need Apple IIe Missing Keys

if you want the key caps to stay firm on the key stems, you will need to replace the key switches. the '2' key steam appear to be broken, not sure about the '+/=" key.

one other thing is that you might need a top-hat spacer between the key stem and the key cap. check your existing intact keys and see if there's a spacer between the key cap and key stem.

I recently got a 1982 Apple IIe for my retro computer collection. However it is currently missing 2 keys. I was wondering if someone has some extra keys from a broken one that they would be willing to donate. I will be happy to pay for shipping and the keys through paypal.

I am missing the number 2 key and the = key. They keys themselves work I just need the mushroom cap portion

Have to look and see if I have that particular color set of key caps. Have a bunch of IIe machines in various stages of repair/disrepair. Give me a day or so I will let you know if I have them.

you need to identify what type of keyboard you have (there's a reason to my line of questions.) Apple IIe had three or four different keyboard designs over the span of the ten years it was in production.

can't tell based on your photo. pry off a key (carefully) and look. it'll be pretty obvious if there's a spacer or not.

I actually have iie key post switch assemblies for sale $5 a piece. Looks like you need two for a authentic restoration. Krazy glue will not work well. And wind up locking up the post. I can walk you through the switch assembly replacement. Also visit www.retromidwave.com.
